Introduction
Is Microsoft Teams getting on your nerves popping up when you start Windows? Well in this post I will show you how to turn off teams autostart!
Some programs don’t support ‘autostart‘ like MS Teams does, but here is a guide on how to setup autostart on any program; we also have a guide on how to disable autostart on those same programs too.
How to stop Teams autostart
Firstly to disable teams autostart, you want to make sure the Teams app is running and head over to the settings, it’s located in the top right corner when you click on the ellipses.

On the first page that opens up, near the bottom of the page is the section ‘Application‘. Find ‘Auto-start application‘ and untick it, then close the settings window. Once you restart your machine the Teams app should no longer start running automatically.

Enable Teams autostart
Now if perhaps you’re here for the opposite and you want to enable MS Teams autostart, then simply do the opposite and tick the ‘Auto-start application‘ box!
Tl;dr
To turn off the Teams client autostart, go to the Teams app settings and untick ‘Start-up application‘.
